Back in 2006, Le Scratchfunk was a project that I've started with my friend Alex aka Die Axt. We started making sample based music that lived somewhere between HipHop and Funk. 3 tracks were released on vinyl on the German label Melting Pot Music. After a few live shows, the project disbanded. But the track "The Go Off!" became a favorite in the international Bboy/Bgirl scene. Its B-side, "From Scratch", is classic downtempo instrumental sample goodness that stood the test of time. "Competent" was the first single of one of Germany's earliest Hiphop Crews, L.S.D. (Legally Spread Dope) from the Cologne area, and came out in 1989. We were asked to do a remix - another sample heavy banger - and it was released in 2007. We still think these tracks rock today as they did back then. So finally, for the first time after more than a decade, these tracks are seeing an official digital re-release in remastered form. Thank you for your support, hope you'll enjoy!
